ABOUT RUBY MOON FLORAL

Flowers have always been part of the story

Long before Ruby Moon Floral existed, Kari was spending time on her grandmother’s farm; gathering eggs, feeding animals, and picking lilacs and peonies in the spring.

That early connection to the land shaped the way she experiences beauty today. Not just in the flowers themselves, but in the process of growing, gathering, and sharing them with others.

FROM FLORIST TO FLOWER FARM

Kari began working in flowers while still in high school at a small local flower shop where her grandfather worked as the delivery driver.

Over the years, she built a career in floral design and eventually owned her own retail flower shop. While she loved the artistry behind designing flowers, she found herself longing for something more connected to the seasons and the land itself.

She didn’t just want to arrange flowers. She wanted to grow them.

What began as a return to the soil slowly became Ruby Moon Floral; a flower farm and floristry shaped by seasonality, hospitality, and thoughtful design.

MORE THAN A FLORAL STUDIO

Today, Ruby Moon Floral is both a working flower farm and floral design studio located just outside Fort Wayne, Indiana. From weddings and flower subscriptions to u-pick evenings and seasonal farmstand offerings, everything is designed to feel intentional, welcoming, and deeply personal.

Many of the blooms used throughout the season are grown right on the farm, creating arrangements that feel layered, natural, and connected to the moment they’re part of.

THE HEART BEHIND THE NAME

The name Ruby Moon Floral is tied to several meaningful pieces of Kari’s story.

It’s inspired by a hyacinth bean variety, her beloved dog Rubin (who she affectionately called Ruby), and the old farming tradition of planting by the moon phases.

Like the brand itself, the name reflects a deep connection to nature, memory, and the rhythms of the seasons.

LIFE ON THE FARM

When she’s not designing or working in the field, Kari spends her time gardening, canning food, traveling, and finding inspiration in old-world spaces and slower ways of living.

She and her husband love making maple syrup, wandering antique stores and orchards throughout Michigan, and caring for life on the farm alongside their dogs, Norman and Alice.

At Ruby Moon Floral, flowers are meant to feel gathered, seasonal, and full of life.

Whether you’re visiting the farm, planning a wedding, or bringing home a bouquet from the stand, the hope is always the same; that you leave feeling a little more connected to beauty, nature, and the people around you.
